BANANA LEAF for the first time

It was Feb. 13, 2011 around past 2pm. Me and my hubby was seeking for a new discovery resto to dine on. We strolled from SM Annex to The Block when finally this resto caught our attention for the second time. Hmmm!!! We wondered at first why Banana Leaf? I asked my hubby, "Is their food was yummy?" Then he smiled at me and say, "Let's try!"...

The receptionist welcomed and greeted us with warm smile and lead us to our seats right away. There are few customers inside. But not usually crowded like the other resto. So that time we still in doubt if the food was great. Then another crew placed a banana leaves for us and the utensils. Now, my question is answered. Looks so weird, but it's so cool! Actually this is not my first time to eat on banana leaf, but this was my first time to eat using this alternative plate only. Some resto use banana leaf as cover on a plate. In this cafe only the leaf itself.

Then the receptionist came back to give us the menu book. Wow! The pictures look so yummy! And after few minutes we decided to ordered Penang Fried Rice with Salted Fish & Chicken, Deep Fried Squid Flavoured in Homemade Spicy Garlic, Vietnamese Prawn Ball with Cheese, extra plain rice (if ever i don't like the penang rice) and Fresh Buko Juice. The food was arrived 10-15 minutes after we ordered.

It was an unforgettable dining experienced with Banana Leaf Asian Cafe. The food was great, the place was so neat and clean. The staff are polite and always smiling. The place is not crowded so we still got our privacy. The price are very reasonable. All in all rate is 100%. Thank you for the staff and manager of that cafe. You made my birthday wonderful and of course thanks to my hubby who always make my day wonderful. And we go home happy and full.

How to fulfill your DREAMS?

Some tips if you want to pursue your dreams.

Dream big and make it happen. We only have one life, so if you are serious about that dream, do everything to turn it into reality. Work hard and pray harder, and you will achieve things beyond anything you can possibly imagine. People always wait for the perfect moment...but now is the perfect t moment. It's never too late or too early to follow your dreams.

Stay true to yourself and your values. People put so much pressure on themselves to emulate the cool kid on the block, unmindful that they have so much to offer this world that nobody else can. Show who you are! Sometimes you will be exposed to so many bad influences that is tempting to give in to peer pressure. But just stick to your guns; know what good or bad for you. As quotes by Judy Garland, "Be a first-rate version of yourself and not the second-rate version of someone else!"

Be strong! Never tell yourself I'm tired, the more you accept the thought, the more exhausted you'll become. But if you tell yourself, "I can do it whatever it takes!", you'll find that there are no limits to what you can accomplish. For God has never been tired of guiding you all the time.

Learn from past failures or mistakes. Everything happen for a reason, and everything works out for the best. Keep an open mind and welcome changes from plans as moments to learn and opportunities to grow. After being rejected over 30 times in my past application for a job, I felt despairing at first. But I took the rejections in stride, I never give up and I put my trust in God.

Appreciate God's blessings. We just didn't notice sometimes the everyday gifts that we take for granted. Take the time to step back and just give thanks to God for all of it.

Hope this may help you some in fulfilling your dreams. Just believe in yourself, don't give up, and always think positive. And always surround yourself with positive and passionate people. You can make it!

FPJ and the BEAUTY QUEENS

Me and mom are avid fans of Fernando Poe Jr. a.k.a. FPJ or "Da King", with the real name of Ronald Allan Kelley Poe (August 20, 1939 – December 14, 2004).

Everytime that FPJ was on our screen we don't change the network already and we're focus on watching until the end.  We always followed and waited on his next movie. Until now even he is already gone, me and mom still an avid fan. He will forever remain in our hearts.

FPJ was admitted to Saint Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City on the evening of December 11, 2004 after complaining of dizziness at a gathering in his production studio premises. That time, I was on duty on the other department of the hospital and too busy to go and have a sneak to ICU to see him. After my duty it's not allowed to visit him already so didn't had the time to see him while he's there. He suffered from a stroke and slipped into a coma while being treated for a brain clot. Doctors described his condition as a cerebral thrombosis with multiple organ failure. He died at the age of 65 on December 14 at 12:01 am, without regaining consciousness.

The 9th day wake was attended by hundreds of thousands, (including me and my mom) with organizers claiming numbers as high as two million. The funeral procession drew tens of thousands who crowded the streets of Quezon City. He was buried in his family plot along with his father and mother in North Cemetery, Manila, Philippines.
We will never forget the first and last time we saw him in person, sad to say, it was his wake on the Sto. Domingo Church in Quezon City. So,even I have lack of sleep because of my abnormal working duties at the hospital (as a Charge Clerk) Even we wait for almost 9 hours just to fall-in-line going to the church, It's okay, we patiently wait until our turn (take note: I came from my work duty as afternoon shift 2-10pm). Yes, almost 9 hours of standing, from 10:30pm to 7:30am. It's okay, we know that it was our last chance to see him in flesh and after that we will never see him ever again. T_T

Trivia: Do you know that almost all of his leading ladies in his movies in the past and before he passed away are beauty queens/participants/runner-ups? And here is the list that I collected:

GET KARL! OH SOO-JUNG (Koreanovela)

About the Series (click here)
I laughed and cried several times in some scenes of Oh Soo Jung Vs Karl. I love this Koreanovela because the twist and twirls of the story was very nice. And now on it's finale, I’m gonna miss the story (but thanks to the net world I know I can find links where I can watch it over and over again). It is a happy ending. It’s about a girl who never denying that she was a gold digger, beside of being a former beauty queen, she's really have a strong fighting-spirit and have pride. She got a good heart, but being dominated to her dreams and ambitions make her bad sometimes. She always taking for granted the chance to be with the one she love because of her ambitions. She always traded in rich mens the actual content of her heart. Until she never noticed the aging in her that sometimes others declined to even like her even-though how pretty she was. Until later they met again, the man she once fled their wedding day just because he did not passed the bar exam for being a lawyer.

Why do I love Oh Soo Jung despite of her nasty habit? Actually, things are not ugly about her she also has a heart somehow. And she is the image of a brave woman, stable, and not easy to give up. She also hurts a lot of people for own dream for her family. Like what Arvin said, she most liked Soo Jung not because of her beauty. She was a woman in the middle of the desert, walking while in burden of carrying-sack in the middle of heat and fatigue. Working tirelessly for his family. Picture of a strong and stable woman. Despite of that, she also crying if she's hurting. She was not a showy-typed person in terms of that. And I liked her most when she was drunk, because of her third character. And they say, drunk person can show and speak the real feelings of their heart.

Well, I also liked the character of Menard I just don't want him when he always let the opportunity passed. If it is in saying, "the grain was already served does not want to peck". But in fairness at the end, all end up in a wonderful wedding. After 11 yrs, they also push the long delayed marriage despite of trials and tribulations.

And the moral lesson of the whole story was "while there is life there is hope". All patience and confidence will be sincere to the heart and does not only due to the dictates of others. And the most important thing was you are happy in every decision that you make in your life. You should be true to yourself. You don't need to step or hurt others just to fulfill your dreams and ambitions. Real love really can wait, there is a right time, nobody knows, you will know it once it's there. But sometimes we can't wait, unconsciously we're thinking we're wasting so much time that we could also become part of a happy memories. Nobody can interfere for two hearts destined to one another.

In a relationship there are 3 important components; TRUST, RESPECT, and LOVE. Once one of these components is missing the relationship will never last. You should not enlarges minor problems. Don't let the night will pass that you do not settle down the problem. It’s good to be “forgive and forget” but not all times, because there are such things that cannot easily forget. We must learn to forgive those who hurt us. We should know how to be submissive if necessary. There's no disadvantage if we apologize to the person we hurt. More important in a relationship, you're not only treat each other as bf/gf's you should also be friends. For in case, time will come that you didn't understand each other, it will easy for the both of you to talk about it. The important is whether you both decided to separate ways the friendship is still there and you remain friends.

They say "you cannot continue the present, if you don’t forget the past, but use the past as the lesson to have a better present". And the most important thing…keep your relationship happy each day regardless of trials and problems. Because time will come we will grow old and all the beautiful and happy memories in our life we'll only be remembered.

STAY HAPPY!!!
